Songs to Hear Before You Die; Part 1

There are certain songs that continue to amaze after every listen. There are some songs that are’nt anything special except for one 10 second long part which you just can’t get enough of. There are songs that are nothing other than a pop song, but are so great in being what they are. Songs you love, or not, you have to hear them before you die or your life wont be fulfilled. So, several times a month I’ll be posting some of these songs that I believe have to be heard before you die. Not the greatest songs of all time by any means, but the ones you have to hear a few times in your life.

One of my favorite songs ever. Certainly a song you must hear before you die, for every reason.

A great song by one of the definitive bands of the second half of the 20th century.

Probably one of the greatest breakup songs ever, if you ask me.

Who said only rappers can make songs about how great their sex life is?

I’m not so extreme with my music obsession that I can’t be friends with someone who doesn’t like a certain song, but if I was, this would be one of those songs.

you may want to turn up your volume a bit for this one.

One of my favorite grunge songs. Probably the definitive song off of Alice In Chain’s album ‘Dirt’

One of the best love songs I’ve ever heard.

The riff, the vocals, everything. I’m so glad mainstream music has some decentness with Maroon 5.

I can guarantee that by the time you read the title of this post 10 times you will want to go buy this song. Unless of course you have completely different music taste then I do.

Anberlin Begin Recording A Fifth Album

Recording kicked off today for Anberlin in Nashville TN. According to frontman Stephen Christian’s twitter (http://twitter.com/stephenanberlin) the new album is going to be “heavier, darker, and so much better” then the previous release New Surrender (2008). The group is aiming to get the album (which as of now does not have a name) out in late summer.

What do you want to hear on the new album? Let me know via a comment on this post.
